Day 36 - Jake's and Stoney Brook

Awoke to a beautiful sunny morning. Now I had the chance to hike around the neighboring fields and check out the views! Beautiful fields of wheat, oats, corn and some sort of unknown beans. It seems odd to me that so many acres are planted in feed corn just to feed all those cows.

The boys will arrive tonight after 6:00 and be here for the rest of the week. We headed off to Stoney Brook State Park, about a half an hour away over in Dansville. Jake and Kellie had never been there so it was new to them too. A VERY popular spot for hiking along yet another gorge. This one has a swimming area built right into the stream. The fact that the water temperature was 56 degrees didn't seem to bother some people. Again, a CCC project!

On the way home we stopped at Tops, the local grocery store, and got supplies for dinner along with three bottles of Salameda's Spiedie Sauce! We got home and had a nice dinner of steaks on the barbie with corn and mac salad. We ate the Blueberry pie we got from Monica's yesterday.

One of things youngun's do at Jake's house is ride 4 wheelers around the back yard. Sure looks like fun!

Rowan and Brennan showed up at 6:00 in time for dinner. Then they wore this old man out playing soccer in the expanse of the back yard.

(OMG! I just looked at the 7 day forecast for Boise. 100-102 every day! But its dry!)

Thoughts, Observations and Conclusions

Fifty days, 11,175 miles! WOW! And it all went according to plan - on time and on budget! My favorite places: Medora, ND Bar Harbo...
