OK, so how do you describe this place? Las Vegas? no....Disney Land? no.... Pidgeon Forks? no.... Try combining them all? Its all God and Country. There's no debauchery or sin here. Nevertheless, its really a fun place! Branson itself is spread over a large area between Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo in the rolling hills of the Ozarks. There are lots of hilly roads so it gets very confusing! A new Hilton Conference Center on the river walk area. We are staying at one of 3 Quality Inns "on the Strip". A favorite destination for buses full of "gray hairs". Not sure from where -its 300 miles to 4 cities - Memphis, Kansas City, St. Louis or Oklahoma City....take your pick. There are literally hundreds of hotels!
This morning we explored the area and came upon the Table Rock Dam and the state trout fish hatchery.
Today we had a choice of no less than 65 shows! From 10:00AM to 8:00PM in as many venues. We picked two shows. This afternoon we went to "SIX", an a cappella group of six guys in a great auditorium with a fantastic sound system! These guys are noted for their ability to create and endless variety of musical sounds.
For our dinner we happened across a place called Center Stage Grill and Bar, which had a digital sign outside that flashed "We Have Schnitzel". So we each had a different style of Schitznel and it was great!
Our second show was the Haygoods at the Clay Cooper Theater, a really nice 1200 seat venue. This family band has been in Branson for 27 years! High energy, lots of technical tricks, rock, country, gospel, you name it! Awesome a cappella rendition of "Alelulia".
